Beware of cheap cabinets

A few simple tests & checks can reveal the true quality of a kitchen cabinet.

Push the back of the unit, it should not give.
If it does there is no support for the unit & in time displacement may occur and doors fall out of line.
Drawers are very important as these are usually the first components to fail in a kitchen.
They should have solid base and back panels with fully extending rails. The market leaders will all have the soft-close mechanism.

What colour is the carcase?
Cheap end of the market units will be white or a mottled colour. Look for a fully colour coded carcase.
And most importantly, ask about the construction of the carcase.
